We are actively seeking tech-savvy volunteers to provide valuable support to our clients by assisting them with creating email accounts and addressing other important digital needs.

Volunteers will play a crucial role in helping clients develop essential technology skills, enabling them to stay connected, access important resources, and improve their overall digital literacy.

If you have experience with technology and enjoy empowering others through education and guidance, we would greatly appreciate your support for our Popup participants on any given Tuesday, from 10am - noon, at our St. Mary’s Parish Popup. Ideally, we’re looking for folks who can come regularly to assist our clients.

Our twice weekly “Shower and Laundry Service" offers on-site laundry and showers at The Salvation Army Gilroy as part of a collaborative program.

These service days will be held from 8am to 11:30am on Mondays and Wednesdays.

We need volunteers who are able to assist weekly on at least one of these days to assist clients with these services and monitor shower times.

The same things you use everyday to stay clean, well-groomed and smelling fresh are also needed by those we serve who have lost their homes. We distribute thousands of hygiene kits to the unhoused throughout the year, with items like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, feminine hygiene products, and more.

Every Tuesday, we also need to package a hot breakfast for individuals attending our Unhoused Popup that day.

We’re looking for a volunteer who can help assemble hygiene kits to distribute throughout the week. You will meet at our offices and we will provide everything you need to provide this service. You can meet at our offices—M-Th, anytime between 9:30am - 4pm—and assemble as many kits as you desire.

To provide our unhoused neighbors with everything they need to survive out in the elements, we receive, store and deliver hundreds of food, clothing, hygiene and other necessities items at our local warehouse. We need your assistance for the following: unloading weekly food deliveries, rotating food supplies, organizing and shelving food and supplies, repackaging pet supplies, loading and unloading our distribution van, labeling of containers and shelving, and more. Training will be provided.

Food unloading takes place every other Tuesday at 1:30pm. All other warehouse volunteer support activities (listed above) can be scheduled in the afternoons, at a mutually agreeable time that works for you and our warehouse personnel.

This volunteer opportunity invites you to help organize our warehouse many afternoons at our warehouse in central Gilroy. Delivery unloading assistance takes place every other Tuesday at 1:30pm.

Heavy lifting, of up to 50lbs, is required. If you have any back issues, we strongly discourage you from applying.

Nothing says you care like preparing and serving a hot meal for those who rarely enjoy such a privilege.

We’re looking for a volunteer group, or a few individuals, who can prepare a home-cooked meal and serve it to our Popup participants on any given Tuesday, from 10am - noon, at our St. Mary’s Parish Popup. Ideally, we’d like to offer this once per month from interested volunteer groups.

All the gently used clothing donated by folks like you helps keep our clients dry and warm. We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to work with our Clothing Resource Volunteer to inventory and organized used clothing items, and to fulfill clothing orders for our clients. We need someone who can consistently serve on Wednesdays from 9-11am and also on the last Saturday of the month for the Free Store, which runs from 9-12 at Gilroy High School.
